Have you ever heard of compassion fatigue?

It happens especially among activists and those in the medical and mental health fields. Vegans and activists (and medical professionals) generally have more empathy for others' suffering. Slaughterhouse vigils, days of mourning, and images of suffering all do add to this possibility. Self-care is paramount, and so is pacing, and a support group. I suggest even asking activists to go for a drink or bite to eat after an action. Some light social time helps a lot, and it builds empathetic support for yourself.
